The Fencing Academy – London
Established in 1996. 22 years of excellence dedicated to the art and the modern Olympic sport of fencing.
The Champion Programme
The Champion Programme was established in 1996 for children. For the next 10 years Academy children dominated the youth scene in the UK. Soon after in 1997 we extended the Champion Programme to Adults producing the first group of adult fencer starting as adults and moving to the senior competitions and the national senior ranking.
The Zorro Programme
In 2006 the Zorro Programme was established and we became the largest club in the UK introducing hundreds of new fencers to the sport and continue to run a successful programme.
Then in 2010 we extended the programme to Adults adding on to the success of the Champion Programme for adults which included a beginner section. Again, we became the club with the largest representation at Open senior competitions.
The Premier Programme
In 2016 The Premier Programme was launched to make the move to the International scene. Already, two years on, this is looking successful with a number of International fencers making the FIE Satellites, World Cups and GP competitions.
There is a lot more to come in 2019.
A New Beginning
There is a lot to come in the year 2019. By the end of 2019 we will be a leap ahead. Winter Term: We are restructuring all our three club programmes. In the first part of the year we will be launching the various elements of the new club programmes. Summer Term: In the middle part of the year, the new club programmes will have settled in and the fencers will have had a chance to from the new elements of training and ready to be pushed further. This is when our focus will shift onto assessing our fencers and the athletes to make the necessary adjustments and make ensure that we are delivering successfully for them. We will finish this term with a big celebration marking our 20th year of summer camp. Autumn Term: This will be the beginning of the new fencing season and the countdown to the 2020 Olympics. The focus will be on the competition season for our fencers and making the final adjustments to our new restructured club programmes ready for 2020.
